Diaper Genie Unscented Round Refill
The maker's own bags for the Elite pail, effective on odor but costly to keep buying.
We bought Diaper Genie Elite Refills, Pack of 4 (listed as Playtex Diaper Genie Disposal System Refills). It's no longer documented anywhere, so this page reviews the closest well-covered match. The Playtex branded refill pack is an older listing; the current Diaper Genie round refill is the maker's cartridge for the Elite pail.
The short version
- Owners of a Diaper Genie Elite, Complete or Expressions pail
- Parents who want the maker's own odor barrier film rather than a generic bag
- You own a square refill or Easy Roll Diaper Genie pail, which take different refills
- Keeping running costs low matters more than odor control
What owners like
- The Diaper Genie system contains odor well while the lid stays closed
- Bag changes are simpler in practice than the instructions suggest
Common complaints
- Refills add a steady extra cost on top of diapers
- Each cartridge yields only a few full bags, so the cost per bag is high
- Some odor escapes when the lid opens to drop in a new diaper

What it does
Replacement bag cartridges for round refill Diaper Genie pails such as the Elite; the original Playtex branded 4 pack is an older listing, so this covers the current round refill that fits the same pails.
- Multi layer film meant to keep odors inside the pail
- Continuous tube of film, so each bag is only as long as needed
- Opaque film hides what is inside
- Unscented, with a clean laundry scented version in the same round format
- Changing the refill is a four step job: remove, pull up, tie off, insert
A sensible buy if you already own a Diaper Genie Elite, Complete or Expressions pail and want the maker's own bags with its odor barrier film. The trade off is ongoing cost, since these proprietary cartridges work out far pricier per bag than pails that take ordinary trash bags.

Do Diaper Genie round refills fit the Elite pail?
Yes. Diaper Genie lists the Complete, Elite and Expressions pails for its round refills.
How many diapers does one refill hold?
Diaper Genie says up to 270 newborn size diapers per unscented round refill. Larger diapers take more room, so the real count drops as a baby grows.

Can cheaper refills be used in a Diaper Genie?
Third party refills such as Mama Bear are sold for the round refill pails. Diaper Genie recommends its own refills for the best odor control.
