What it does
A 7.2 channel home theater receiver from Denon with 8K and 4K 120Hz HDMI passthrough, Dolby Atmos, DTS:X and HEOS streaming built in.
- Seven amplified channels for a 7.1 or 5.1.2 Dolby Atmos layout
- Three 8K HDMI inputs with 4K 120Hz, VRR and ALLM for current consoles and PCs
- eARC on the main HDMI output, so the TV's own apps can send lossless audio back
- HEOS multiroom streaming plus AirPlay 2, Bluetooth and Spotify Connect
- Built in phono stage for a moving magnet turntable
- Guided setup with Audyssey room calibration
A good fit for a living room or medium sized room running a 5.1, 7.1 or 5.1.2 Atmos system with modern TVs and consoles. Reviewers like its warm, dialogue friendly sound and easy setup, but the 90 watt rating runs out of headroom in big rooms, only three of the six HDMI inputs are 8K capable, and there are no pre-outs for adding external amps beyond two subwoofers.
