TERRO Multi-Surface Liquid Ant Baits (T334BCAN / T334B, 4 pack)

Reliable borax bait for sweet ants indoors, let down by weak adhesive strips.

The short version

Buy it if
  • Households with sweet-feeding ants trailing across counters, floors or along baseboards
  • People who want bait stations that look tidier than the classic clear TERRO baits
  • Anyone wanting to place bait on a wall or under a cabinet rather than the floor
Skip it if
  • You are dealing with fire, pharaoh, carpenter or harvester ants
  • The ants are outdoors; TERRO sells separate outdoor stations
  • You cannot place stations where children and pets cannot reach them

What owners like

  • The bait formula works well on common sweet-feeding ants
  • Stations are less conspicuous than older TERRO baits
  • Flexible placement, flat or mounted

Common complaints

  • Adhesive backing often fails to separate from its liner or does not hold, so many owners lay the stations flat or use their own tape
  • Owners of the older TERRO design say its foam adhesive pad held better
  • Occasional stations arrive leaking, and some twist tabs tear when opened

Based on Customer reviews and TERRO's replies on the maker's product page, retailer listings from Webstaurant Store and Jackson's Hardware, the Amazon US and Canada listings, and TERRO's liquid ant bait FAQ..

What it does

Four pre-filled borax liquid ant bait stations that can lie flat or stick to walls and cabinets with included adhesive strips; T334BCAN is the Canadian pack of the T334B.

  • Slow acting borax bait lets worker ants feed and carry it back to share with the colony
  • Two-color brown and white housing meant to blend in with decor
  • Adhesive strips let stations mount on walls or under cabinets
  • Twist tab keeps the liquid fresh until each station is opened
  • Pre-filled and ready to use

A sensible pick for indoor trails of common sweet-feeding ants, where worker ants carry the borax bait back to the colony. The bait itself has a good reputation, but the adhesive strips on this newer design draw repeated complaints, so plan on laying the stations flat or using your own tape. It does not control fire, pharaoh, carpenter or harvester ants.

Questions

How long do TERRO liquid ant baits take to work?

TERRO says each ant dies within 24 to 48 hours after feeding, and colony elimination can take from a couple of days to several weeks depending on colony size.

Why are there more ants after putting out TERRO baits?

TERRO says this is expected. Foragers leave a pheromone trail to the bait, so more ants show up while they carry it back to the colony.

When should I remove the bait stations?

TERRO's FAQ suggests leaving bait out for three to four days after ant activity dies down.

What if the adhesive strip will not stick?

TERRO suggests a clean, dry surface and peeling from a corner. The stations also work laid flat.

Is T334BCAN different from T334B?

T334BCAN is the Canadian package of the same multi-surface liquid ant bait, sold by TERRO's Canadian parent site.
